STORY

Bay State Remodeling gave this 2,000 square foot Boston home an entire interior remodel from studs to finish including a new kitchen, bathroom, living room, and dining room. The client was looking to achieve a modern look for the remodel with an open concept layout. Our original, in-house design, helped reinvigorate the home with a sophisticated, sleek contemporary look while retaining that comforting feeling of being home.

This was achieved by retaining some signature elements from the existing design. For example, in the kitchen and dining area, Bay State Remodeling’s team left a brick column untouched to keep some old elements of the house and give it a warm feeling. In addition, the open layout was achieved removing a load bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room to open the space and make it look more inviting.

The client also wanted to expand the bathroom and make it a more comfortable sanctuary in their home. The updates included making room for a separate shower as well as a free-standing tub with high end fixtures and premium tile design. Finally, the laundry room was relocated from an unfinished basement to the bedroom floor for more convenient access.
