STORY
A client in Wayland, MA wanted to bring an open concept to their kitchen and living room with a traditional style remodel. The team at Bay State Remodeling helped open the living area by removing the wall between the kitchen and an adjacent room.
For safety, Bay State Remodeling also installed an LVL beam between the two now-open rooms. They also installed a new peninsula in between the dining and kitchen to serve as a functional breakfast bar with additional storage and new sink.
Throughout the area, Bay State Remodeling refinished the flooring and added a fresh coat of paint to the walls. In addition, they distributed recessed cans throughout the space to give the space some much-needed brightness. The blue paint in the back of the open bookcases Bay State Remodeling also helped with this by creating a contrasting color from the overall neutral, bright tones throughout the rest of the materials and walls.
In the kitchen, the combination of cool, white wall cabinets with the warm tones in the wood base cabinets gave the space a unique feel. The contrasting colors were tied together through the use of powdered black finish hardware as well as brass fixtures and stools to create a cohesive look throughout.
Overall, the client loves how their home is more open, bright, positive, and functional. They are looking forward to enjoying it for years to come and continue to rave about the great quality work from Bay State Remodeling as well as how great it was working with the team.
