A Bay State Holdings Group company

A Greater Boston design-build team that builds the way we would for our own homes.

Design-build work since 2007 across Newton, Brookline, Wellesley, Arlington, Cambridge, Needham, Lexington, and Waltham. Founded and led by Ray Yehoshua since 2007, Bay State puts a dedicated project lead on every job — from the first consult through the last punch-list item.

A primary bath in Newton — design, tile, and build under one roof.

    The story

    Since 2007, one corridor.

A white shaker kitchen with a gray glass backsplash — a Bay State Remodeling project in Newton

Bay State Remodeling was founded in 2007 by Ray Yehoshua. What began as smaller projects grew, over the years, into one of the established design-build remodelers in Greater Boston — built on a standard Ray still runs the company by: connect every detail from the first design to the final walkthrough, and hand the client a finished result they are glad they signed on for.

Since then, that same standard runs every project — across Newton, Brookline, Wellesley, Arlington, Cambridge, Needham, Lexington, and Waltham. Every project gets the same rules: one lead per house, written weekly updates, every change order on paper before the work happens.

In 2024 we opened the Bay State Kitchen Gallery showroom at 145 Newton St. in Waltham. The decision was the same one every remodeler makes: cabinetry was running more than a third of our project budgets, and we wanted the design and sourcing under one roof. BSKG handles the kitchen design work; BSR handles the general contracting. Both sit under Bay State Holdings Group. Both report to the same project lead.

    The principle

    Concrete, plain, no superlatives.

The approach Ray built into the company is the same on every project: pick a door, price the kitchen, write the spec book, run the schedule. No promises about things we have not priced. No vague ranges on things we have priced. The proposal is a document we stand behind; the final number lives inside the brackets on the first page.

We do not sell the thing we have not installed. We do not take on the project we are not sized for. When a homeowner brings us a scope we cannot run well, we say so at the kitchen table and point them to someone who can. That rule has cost us some work and saved us more.

The language on this site reads flat on purpose. Nobody has ever bought a $150K remodel because of a superlative. They bought it because the person across the table seemed like someone who would tell them the truth.

    The team

One team. One Greater Boston corridor.

Every project gets a named project lead and a named field lead. No handoffs to a crew that has not walked the plans.
