I'm renovating 2 rental apartments in my multifamily home. This includes new kitchens, refurbished hardwood floors, new light fixtures, new bathroom vanities and a new look for the bathroom tiles and bath tubs with the help of tile glazing. I received quotes for the tile glazing from 2 companies, and Bay State's pricing was better. I received the 4 service dates I requested. The technician who services my 4 bathrooms was Yuri. He arrived when he said he would each day. He was polite, respectful and really knew his trade well. He is a diligent hard worked. Several of my bathrooms had damaged grout, and Yuri skillfully repaired this for a small adder to the bill, and it was well worth it. The end results exceeded my expectations. My bathrooms were transformed in a day from an odd brown color to gleaming white with perfect grout. My friends who have seen the results are also amazed at how good the tiles and tubs look now. They look new. I will be calling Bay State again for future work, and I'll request Yuri to be the technician on my job.

Bay State Remodeling completely remodeled our 565 sf condominium in Brighton, MA, including all new kitchen and bath. It was an excellent experience from beginning to end. They were very accommodating to our needs and design changes. Ray, the owner, Roger, the office engineer, and David worked together seamlessly to maintain schedule and their contract documentation is superb. Bay State Remodeling are a very professional group and I felt their main goal was ensuring we are happy customers. We are!

I cannot say enough good things about Bay State and the work they did on our house in Newton. They worked quickly and efficiently and everyone was very professional and pleasant to be around. If you're looking for really excellent customer service during your renovation, I HIGHLY recommend Baystate. Martha was outstanding in her role facilitating our job, since we had so many outside circumstances to deal with as we progressed through the steps leading up to the resurfacing. I could not have asked for more flexibility and kind consideration for the changes we (continually) had to make to stay on schedule. Very much appreciated!!! David and Juan were also courteous, responsive and all around easy to work with. The little details that had to be corrected were done in a timely and gracious fashion. Much appreciated Juan and David!!! To top it off the price was right and the company size made it possible for them to be as flexible as they were, with all the timing problems that kept cropping up.

Bay State made my last minute shower remodel a breeze. Ray contacted me soon after I sent an email via their website, and he arrived at my house the next day at the agreed upon time. He was very clear with the timeline, budget, and expectations, and scheduled my job during the only week I was able to accommodate the work. When it came time to do the job, David, Marcio, and the plumber (I didn't get his name) were great. They showed up on time and ready to work. When they realized that I needed a few additional details to complete the job and give it a proper finish, they were clear in explaining what I needed. David even went to Home Depot with me to make sure that I bought the right materials. In a very short amount of time, I had a properly functioning and beautiful shower. I was so pleased with the work, that I asked them to look at the master bath and draft an estimate for remodeling that later. In short, I highly recommend them!

After spending hours researching contractors to remodel my condo I chose Bay State. I am very happy I did. The work was done beautifully. David was the project manager and always kept me updated on progress. He was not only kind but very understanding of the vision I had for my "new home" and was a huge asset in getting it carried out. Marcio (carpentry), was just so great. Made sure the carpentry was done well and with precision. Jonathan Brody (electric), plumbers, and Flavio (mason) all did clean accurate work. Everyone was respectful, professional and courteous. It was clear that they all took a lot of pride in their jobs and I greatly appreciated that. I have been very pleased with the work done by Ray and his team at Bay State Remodeling. They did a bathroom gut & remodel (includling hauling away a 400 lb clawfoot tub) in less than a week for a low price, and worked completely in my brief timeline with short notice. I was pleased at how professional and trustworthy this group was, and how quickly they worked. They also cleaned up after themselves when the job was done. The quality of work was exceptional as well, and I now have a gorgeous new bathroom to come home to!

We had Baystate Remodel do a bathroom remodel. Since we were on budget Ray gave us good ideas on cutting cost. We had bathroom wall tiles re-glazed white. Floors had tiles put over existing, They did a nice job of laying tiles around heating baseboard. It was also had it cut to size. Overall within a week of talking to Ray we had a brand new bathroom 🙂 Great job.

Bay State completely gutted and renovated my kitchen, which was in very rough shape. Yuri led the project. He and his crew were great. I could trust them completely in my house while I was out at work all day. These guys know what they are doing and are very respectful. They sealed off the kitchen for the demo and kept everything very clean. Yuri called and/or texted every time something came up and kept me informed of all my options. The old kitchen had been a total disaster and the new one looks great and works great. Bay State does not cut corners and makes sure all the little details are done right. Yuri was able to do work-arounds any time an issue came up (like how to route the plumbing) and he was always looking to make sure whatever we did stayed in budget. I highly recommend working with Bay State.

BAY STATE: HERO OF OUR OFFICE RESCUED FROM A JAM-- I had hired a different contractor for my small office renovation in Beacon Hill. Everything with this other guy exploded in my face. Not only did he walk away with my money, but he also took FOUR STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS from our building with him. It was terrifying. At this point, my office renovation project had gone from challenging to near impossible and I needed some talent and dedication to fix it up. ENTER BAY STATE-- After much research I chose Bay State to repair and completely renovate the office space. BAY STATE DAY ONE-- Bay state shows up with a huge team of talented professionals: Plumber, electrician, architect, general contractor, HVAC, etc... And BOOM! We're back on track! HIGHLY DETAILED PROJECT-- This was a high end project with nearly everything custom. The floors and walls were bowed in at least 3-6 inches and these guys made it into a beautiful box. At no fault of Bay State's few wrong parts were ordered, but we worked through it. END RESULT-- We've moved in and the place is better than I had thought it could ever be!

I had a 700 sq ft rental that was in dire need of a new bathroom and kitchen. I called in Bay State Remodeling and one other company for a quote. Ray came out around April 2014 and took a look at the space, sending me a quote within a week or so. I was daunted by the size of project because: 1) I hadn't done anything like this before 2) My tenants were moving out for a set period of time 3) I was 5 months pregnant with toddler at home 4) I was working full time in a demanding job I also feared the quote was a high level one and was concerned about unseen costs, etc. In late September 2014, I called Ray back and asked if he would come back out to look again at the property and revisit the quote. I told him of a few changes I wanted to add to the scope and talked through each element which was more for my comfort level than anything else. Ray answered my questions patiently and I walked away with the confidence needed to schedule the demolition for the 3rd November. The communication with Ray up until this point was timely, always within 24 hours of receiving my call or email. 3rd of November arrived and the crew was on time and ready to go. I met David, my lead point person and Operations Manager who talked through the process. David touched base with me multiple times daily with updates, questions, concerns, etc. The demolition uncovered significant issues making the project a complete tear down to studs and a rebuild in both the kitchen and bathroom. David communicated the impact in timelines (from 3 weeks to 5 counting Thanksgiving break), Ray talked through and itemised the changes to the cost and they pretty much provided me with the info required to make guided and sound decisions along the way. They owned the problems encountered and arranged to get things sorted (additional plumbing & electrical work), and suggested cost effective enhancements that would improve the space. The crew are a fantastic bunch of individuals who instilled a level of trust and confidence: David: digitally connected which provided a level of communication daily that kept momentum going and the project on track. Graciously accepted deliveries and often picked up at Home Depot supplies required given I worked about 1 hour away from the property. No nonsense personality with the right amount of humor. Dali: collaborative with ideas for improving the design and brought photos of other things he had done for other clients in the bathroom. He suggested a cut out tile box on the surround tub wall, added 2 recessed lights in the bathroom ceiling and re-positioned the ceiling fan for a result that brightened and opened up the small bathroom without taking up the ceiling. Excellent tile work as well. Edilson: also collaborated with ideas on placement of kitchen cabinets and tile work. Edilson, in conjunction with Antonio, worked many late nights (Fri and Sat) at the end of the project to get the last pieces complete. Brilliant tile work, good suggestions to make small changes to minimise rental maintenance, ie adding tile as baseboard around kitchen perimeter to facilitate cleaning and increase durability. Both of them scrubbed the stove and dishwasher before re-installing; the appliances looked like new! In response to my request, they replaced both bedroom closet doors and build additional shelving and the final work looked amazing. The kitchen looked a dream when they were finished. I didn't meet the plumber or electrician but the work was done on time and to quality. The end result was gorgeous bathroom and kitchen that is TOO good for a rental and a huge step up from what it was. I have heard horror stories when dealing with other contracting firms. Excellent job remodeling my Somerville bathroom. I'm that annoying remodel customer who wants to source all their own materials and do everything in a particular way, and the Bay State workmen were completely on board: I felt that everyone went the extra mile to do the job right and get it how I wanted. Oversize tub with a built-in candle shelf, 3 x 8' custom designed mosaic with extra lighting to match, weird cabinets, tiling around misaligned existing walls, a custom door that took two months extra to arrive -- they took it all in stride. There were some extra charges as we went along, existing plumbing that needed work and so forth, but it was not unreasonable. Shout out to Darly -- a true craftsman, he did all the hard finish work. Yuri did a great job coordinating everyone and working around the inevitable delays. The plaster guys and plumber (whose names I didn't catch) and Jonathan the electrician all did good work and adjusted things as I liked. (The tub faucet doesn't hit me in the head, and the mosaic is lit properly -- all the thumbs up!) These guys are great. We have a pretty small apartment and they were able to do some pretty substantial renovations while we continued to live there. The whole process was substantially less stressful than it could have been.

I remodeled my bathroom with Yuri and Darley this spring, and could not be more pleased with their service! They addressed all of my questions and the bathroom looks fantastic. I recommend them fully!

We had big renovation plans, including finishing the attic and adding a bathroom, redoing two other bathrooms, turning a tiny bedroom into a walk-in closet, creating a hallway between two rooms, and refinishing half of the basement. We reached out to 14 contractors for the project. Bay State's bid was neither the highest nor lowest, but was the best combination of price, responsiveness, and competence, so we went with them. We had a great experience with Bay State. They stayed on budget, accommodated the extras we requested, and finished the project in a timely manner. The project manager David and primary builder Marcio were consistently courteous and communicative about each step of the process. Over the course of the project, David was extremely responsive any time we ran into an issue. As the project wrapped up, Bay State was excellent about going through every item of our check list to make sure that we were satisfied with the end result. We're satisfied customers, and would definitely hire Bay State again for our future renovation needs.

We recently remodeled our bathroom through Bay State, and could not be more satisfied with the beautiful results. From the early stages, Martha and Ray were very professional and helped coordinate the work schedule. Our primary contractor was David, who guided us through the entire process, and provided expert advice with regards to any of our concerns or questions. Additionally, David went way above and beyond to accommodate our busy schedules and minimize the impact the construction had on our home life. The workmanship was first rate, and Marcio did an excellent job with the tiles. Our experience with Bay State was amazing, and we would highly recommend them to anyone considering their services!

I've enjoyed having the team from bay state into our home. Prior to these guys we've had some less than great experiences with a variety of contractors--the classic disappearing act and general lack of communication, missed appointments, hidden upcharges, etc etc. thankfully this was not the case with Bay State. We have young children and all the guys were friendly and accommodating with their particular needs. We made a number of DIY moves (special pieces we wanted to procure on our own) that needed to integrate into the entire project. We were relatively high maintenance and they never acted annoyed or frustrated with issues that were on us. They discovered mold behind a wall and it messed up their schedule during peak summer and they didn't break a sweat. Yuri is the project manager and is a good communicator --I was able to reach him even during off hours for various emergencies and questions. Marcio seemed to be capable of building or fixing anything -- great attention to his craftsmanship. Rogelio was similarly a skilled jack of all trades and wonderful, considerate and accommodating. Even though we're done they are willing to fix anything else that might go wrong later--they stand by their work.

My husband and I just bought a fixer-upper in West Newton and had to move in within 20 days after closing. The house looks amazing now and we are very thankful for the hard work the whole team put in. I would highly recommend using their services and would do so again in a minute.

David did an excellent job managing our bathroom remodel project. He and his crew were polite and punctual and during the project he and Ray checked in daily to be sure I was satisfied with progress. I'd overlooked a few plumbing problems. He pointed them out to me and had a plumber on site that day to fix them. I'd recommend him and BayState for any bathroom job. We saved a ton of money reglazing our pink (yikes) tub and tiles. The bathroom came out great.

This was our second bathroom remodel with Bay State. As expected, they did an amazing job. They are extremely responsive, subcontract to reliable and skilled workers, and are communicative about the process. They set up appointments for us at all the relevant vendors, and made sure we had everything before starting the project. Whenever anything went wrong they made sure it was remedied. Thanks in particular to Marcio who gave us tips and opinions along the way about particular finishing details. And to Andreina who kept us informed of the day to day schedule and any other details we needed to have. Would 100% hire them again.

These guys are so awesome! Where do I begin? They have great attention to detail, they were genuinely concerned about my budget and time frame, and they even came back and fixed a couple of minor points after the job was complete! Marcio, Rogerio and David were very patient and competent and genuinely cared about the job, and AJ was great at tile and even drank my terrible coffee! David was constantly in contact via email, and modified and adjusted paperwork for my insurance company a couple of times without a problem. Their plumber, John, was great, too. He worked on a minor issue with the shower temperature control as if it were his own house. I am so grateful for their help and I love my new bathroom, even if it is for my tenant 🙂

We are very pleased with Bay State. Started on time, finished as predicted (be forewarned, it takes time, because of delays in inspection schedule). This is a tiny-under-the-stairs difficult renovation, with a beautiful result, our tenant says they use this bath and feel like they should be a better person! Yuri and Darly were a great team, polite, respectful of our tenants. On a couple of occasions, Yuri intervened late in the game to ensure we got what we wanted. Thank you!
